The agreement reached by Governor Cuomo, Speaker Heastie and Majority Leader Flanagan provides school districts with a sensible extension to complete evaluation plans while extending mayoral control for one year and protecting students by requiring school districts to test their water for lead. ÌýI thank the Governor, the Legislative leaders, Senator Marcellino, Senator O'Mara, Assemblymember Nolan and Assemblymember Lupardo for their efforts in reaching agreement on these important issues. We continue to review other portions of the bill.
