Needs Assessment

Schools must look closely at how they are currently positioned to support student success prior to writing their annual improvement plan through a school-led Needs Assessment.

New York has organized its Needs Assessment Process around its Envision-Analyze-Listen-Implement approach toward continuous improvement.Ìý As part of this, school teams complete five different Needs Assessment activities prior to writing their improvement plan:

Activity 1: Envision: Exploring Your Vision, Values, and Aspirations
Activity 2: Analyze: Internal and External Data
Activity 3: Analyze: Survey Data
Activity 4: Listen: Student Interviews
Activity 5: Envision: Reflect, Synthesize, and Plan
