School and District Accountability Resources and Data
The following is a collection of resources and data related to New York State's accountability system under the federally approved Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), which was signed by President Obama in 2015. The system has been in place since the 2018-19 school year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the United States Education Department approved a two-year pause in accountability determinations for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 school years.
