About Us

The Office of Indigenous Education allocates state funding and provides assistance to public school districts that educate Indigenous children residing on reservations throughout the state and administers the New York State Indian Aid program, which provides funding for Indigenous students attending postsecondary schools. The office works with leaders and educators from Tribal Nations and districts across the state to support Indigenous education programs and ensure that all Indigenous students have access to educational and social-emotional programs to support college and career readiness.
