Programs and Services

The New York State School for the Blind has been dedicated to the education of students with disabilities for over 150 years.

Our teachers, aides and clinicians support children and young adults from ages 5 to 21 years old. These students come from all over New York State, and we collaborate with over 30 school districts.

Our School Age Program provides a full-day education for students diagnosed with a visual impairment and typically one additional disability.ÌýThis educational programming is individualized and specialized to meet the complex needs of our students based on the significance of their disabilities.ÌýThrough evidenced-based decision-making, interdisciplinary professional teams utilize innovative educational and therapeutic programming to ensure the students make noted progress on their goals.Ìý

The NYSSB related services staff provide efficient, effective, high-quality services for students in either individual or group settings.
